Tropical Sporting Claysby Pat Lieske
Upon arriving at Tropical Sporting Clays you will be greeted by owner and course designer Bob Oliver. Tropical Sporting began as Bob's quest to shoot world-class sporting clays targets without having to travel around the world to do it. Fortunately, we have all benefited from his obsession. The 16-station sporting clay course, complete with three towers, is laid out over the Everglades scenic ponds and waterways. Tall pines and mallaluca trees line the stations. While walking the course, don't panic if you run across the occasional alligator. They're usually just trying to see what new target presentation Bob has cooked up. Although sporting clays is the main course at Tropical, don't think that it's the whole meal. You will also find a FITASC sporting course along with a lighted five-stand that stays busy day and night. Five skeet and five trap fields also await you. If you find yourself in Miami on business with no gun or equipment, have no fear. A fully stocked pro shop has rental guns, ammunition, and anything else that you might need to enjoy a day of shooting. Arrangements can also be made for both hunting and fishing trips through the club. For more information, call Tropical Sporting Clays at 305-225-6967 or e-mail Shoot@tropicalsportingclays.com.
